Lisa and Wayne had been to Africa four times already and wanted to go somewhere new for them both. We agreed that a custom itinerary in Kenya that included the best parts of the Maasai Mara Reserve and some time at the beach would be just right for their Fall trip. Here's what Lisa had to say:
Kenya was the perfect place to visit during COVID - what could be better than being outside in a remote conservancy looking at wildlife with nobody else around? After not having traveled in what felt like forever, this trip was fantastic. We had so much fun! This was our 5th trip to Africa and Kenya may just be the best! The people and our guides were so warm and welcoming and the wildlife was so special. Every day brought new sightings and experiences. So many big cats...and lots of babies.
Sala’s Camp in the Maasai Mara was amazing! So many cats: lions, leopard parents and kids, the coalition of 4 cheetahs. We even saw a cheetah mom with 5 cubs. We were lucky to see her moving them to a safer place and she would carry them one by one and then lay and cuddle with each of them before going back for the next one. So cute! She has a hard job to keep them safe. It was definitely a WOW!!!!
Rekero had such an amazing position right on the Talek River. We got to see baby hyenas and baby elephants.
Kicheche Valley Camp in the Naboisho Conservancy was lovely and had the warmest staff! We encountered a group of lionesses practicing hunting wildebeests.
Giraffe Manor was awesome. The giraffes turned up in the early am just in time for breakfast.
The Sands at Diani Beach was wonderful and we enjoyed how deserted it was and our boat trip to Sands Island. The food was great!
All of our drivers were terrific, perfectly on time everywhere we went and were always waiting with a smile at the airport.
